One Man, One Sax was born from Michael’s passion for sharing the joy of live music beyond the stage and into life’s most meaningful moments. After years of performing with top bands and artists, he created this business to bring the energy, elegance, and versatility of the saxophone directly to weddings, private parties, and corporate events. His goal is simple, to create unforgettable experiences through music that connects, uplifts, and leaves a lasting impression on every guest.
About Me
Michael Anderson is a professional saxophonist based in the Twin Cities metro area of Minnesota. He is a regular performer with Good For Gary, Minnesota’s #1 Top 40s variety cover band, and is known for his versatility and high-energy stage presence.
Education & Training
Michael graduated from Millikin University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance. During his time there, he earned a music scholarship and performed as lead saxophonist in the school’s top ensembles, including Jazz Band, Latin Combo, Jazz Combo, Saxophone Quartet, and the Wind Ensemble.

Over the past eight years in Minnesota, Michael has built a strong reputation as a dynamic and adaptable musician. He has performed with a wide variety of groups across genres, from Blues, R&B, and Jazz to Rock, Disco, and Tribute Bands.

Do you perform solo or with a band/DJ?
One Man, One Sax is designed as a solo experience, combining live saxophone with professional backing tracks to create the energy and fullness of a complete band. However, I can also collaborate with DJs, bands, or other musicians if requested.
Can you customize the music for my event?
Yes! I’m happy to work with you on song requests, special moments (like a first dance), or building a playlist that matches the mood and energy you want for your event.
Will you get people dancing?
Yes! And honestly, it’s one of my favorite things! I love seeing the energy build as the saxophone gets people smiling, moving, and filling the dance floor.
How far in advance should I book?
To make sure your date is available, I recommend booking at least 4-6 months in advance. However, I do accept last-minute bookings if my schedule allows.
